hmmm.
how to look cute once you've birthed a baby:
loose tops
flattering jeans
cute hairstyles that are easy, fo shizz
under eye make-up...it pays to pay for the nice stuff
eyelash curler
double extend mascara
a basic white eyeshadow
accessories
this "style" isn't exclusive to just new mama's
this is kind of universal how to look cute
but
these things are key if you want to look descent in public after making the ultimate bodily sacrifice.
if you don't care...don't worry, it's your perogative after pushing out a giant baby.
i'm pretty sure you have an out for the next 12 months
but no one takes the whole 12 months.
eventually you will care about feeling cute again on the outside.
right about now i'm having haircut remorse.
i chopped a good 4 inches off before i had mr.jj, thinking that it would be easier to manage.
i'm an idiot.
all i can do is wear my hair up and now it looks extra lame
because my hair isn't long enough to wear on top of my head
like all the cool kids are.
(i just wear a dumb bun like the mom/son from psyhco)
and it takes way too much arm strength to straighten.
i don't have the type of hair that you
"wear down"
this mexican mop needs to be tamed.
don't believe it?
check it:
am i hiding a small pet in there?
(jic the answer is no...but i could if i wanted)
i pretty promise (or is that pretty please?)
that i'll take an outfit pic...on sunday in fact.
we're blessing the chunky monkey
(you will DIE when you see his little blessing outfit, it's soooo cute)
and i used my womanly charms to convince my husband to buy
me a new dress.
score.
tbc.
that's to be continued.

i think you look really pretty :)
ReplyDeleteChrista, I actually totally adore your hair down and wavy like that. I mean, yeah, I get that it's totally a different story when it's on your head and not somebody else's, but it's actually a really pretty look with the soft, lose waves. You should totally find a way to rock that hair rather than fight it into something that it isn't (well, at least sometimes... lol)
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear from you. Miss your charming posts.
ReplyDeleteHeck I cared about that stuff even when i was in the hospital. I just feel better when I look cuter. So it is really more for me than anyone else.
Well, also for the baby. When I used to wake up to breastfeed my son every time I would brush my teeth wash my face and freshen up. Yeah, that passed by the time we had my daughter!
Can't wait for the Sunday photos and the new dress.
Daphne.
