monday haze

why does modcloth have to be so wonderful?

besides that, this week may be sporadic with posts
because:
a. my bff is in town
until
b.i go out of town...for two weeks.
sooooooo
feel free to contemplate your summer wardrobe
and let me know if you have
any questions about
how to wear certain things
or how to wear them on your body type.
any summer clothing q's.
 ~
i hope you got to shop this weekend...or even window shop.
i'm on money lock down until our trip
but you better believe i will be buying
something awesome on my trip of awesomeness.
(we're going to visit my in-laws...lucky for me i love my in-law)
i'm hoping there are some awesome thrift shops along the way.
have a great week friends!

on repeat

i think about things on repeat.
right now all of these things are on my mind
going in repeat mode...hopefully i can get them out soon.
 couches.
in my imagination my husband is giving
me thousands of dollars to re-do our
entire living room

which includes an elusive picture
of a tree with symmetrical birds...
i saw it
on one of my shows
and now
i can't remember what show it was
this isn't it but i i'm having
a little love affair with folk art.

and i think i've decided on blue and orange color scheme too
for...
somewhere in my house.
p.s. i don't actually have a house, i'm a renter
so when i say "in my imagination" it's
totally and completely in my imagination.

and if we're already down the road
of my imagination,
may as well add
the perfect summer frock and sandals in
my awesome (fake) house:

what's on repeat in your head??

wednesday webs

i'm sure you've heard of bluefly
or at least seen some of
there interesting ads

they have designer things
at discount prices...
not that it fits my
budget all the time
but you can definitely
find a reasonable price
if there's something in particular
that you want.
here's a little
eye candy from bluefly.com

see, there are some things that
are completely affordable with
a designer label on it!
i have to admit, a designer label
does appeal to me...what can i say.

happy browsing.

Jun 22, 2010

look 4 less

as i was perusing the internet
i came across this great summer look
comfy, easy, feminine
and
$511.
yeah, that's a lot of money
that i don't exactly have access to.

so i figured i could probably find something
pretty close to the original
here's what i found:

if you want the original halter look that's totally doable,
they seemed to cost more...odd, right?
then i found some other alternates
that one in the middle is from wal-mart and is $10.
i may actually go right now to get it
ok, not really, but you should.
~
bottoms up:
those two in the middle are from ae and they are $20..and there are
a good amount left look under clearance jeans.
and on the bottom, those are from
banana republic and they have a lot left too.
~
now shoes at anthro
are pretty one of a kind
so these are the best
imitations i could come up with:
i personally like the $49 ones but the one
in the middle is pretty close to the heel and cork feel of the original.
~
now for the necklace, it seems like
you could probably do it yourself.
here are some close ideas off of etsy:

i'm sure you probably know someone
that can make jewelry or you know
how to do it yourself, i bet you could make something pretty close.
same with the hair tie:

so, what do you think?
let's put some together
it's always easier to
see it all together:

Jun 21, 2010

did you see that?

as i was doing my monday routine
which involves getting online mostly
i saw this pic of
lady gaga
at a baseball game this weekend.
let's just say
it's not exactly
appropriate baseball attire

yeah, that's panties and a bra with a jersey.
to the right is
what i would deem more appropriate, right?
plus the amazing hot dogs and fries.
yum.

all though i haven't been to a
professional baseball game since i was 5
i thought it would still be fun to
do a little baseball appropriate
attire...since gaga is setting a bad example.

there's the obvious wearing a baseball shirt,
here are a few updated versions
of rocking a baseball t.
or
you could just go how you are.
whatever you're comfortable in
and add a little team spirit to the mix,
like a bag that has the team logo
or one of those little removable tattoos on your cheek
or if you prefer  dresses
dress up, have fun, work your summer look girls.

whatever you prefer to rock at a baseball game
don't delusion yourself into thinking
you could pull off a gaga.
only gaga can (and would) pull of
undergarments at a baseball game.
play ball.

Jun 17, 2010

free

it's finally the last day of school here.

here's what my kids will be living in, i'm sure...

and here are some combos for
mother's to be
~
remember, it doesn't have to
say maternity on the tag
you can mix in pieces that you already own
look at your wardrobe
and see the things that can...
grow with you.

and some more
summer combos
because
i am so excited
that summer break is offically
(finally)
here.

i'm off to celebrate all day long...i now have
no reason to wake up in the morning.
woo hoo.

wednesday webs

do you crave clothing that's
one of a kind?

did you grow up shopping
at thrift stores?

today's wed web is for you.

all of the clothing is hand picked
and gone through maticulously at
bleubird vintage.

this is a great one stop
shop to find some unique pieces
here are a few that
caught my eye:

these looks are all so much fun.
i can't even tell you how much i love that
blue polka dot jumper, so cute.
even shoes!

there's also men, decor and kids categories!

go check it out, you might find something
that you super-love and can't live without.
and you'll be the only one with it!
happy browsing.

Jun 15, 2010

hot squeeze, cool breeze

comcastic was having issues
in my area this morning...
shocking.
not that i don't love my digital cable
because i totally do.
so here's an afternoon posting.

anyway.
jackets.
summer jackets to be exact.

depending on your climate it may already be
smoldering and humid.
or
partly sunny and rain.
i'm in the latter.

regardless, there are always cold summer nights
where a light jacket is necessary.

feast your eyes on some great options.
most of which can be found
at old navy!

i am in definite need
of a light jacket for summer.
i like the one on the bottom left
but i wonder what the pockets
would look like, on?
too much volume
in an area
that doesn't need it?
these are the things you need to be aware
of when shopping.
just cause it looks cute
doesn't mean it's for your
body.
look at all the angles.
do you have a light jacket already?
is it amazing? tell me where you got it.

Jun 14, 2010

there's no such thing

as too many shoes.
in this case, sandals.
so many summer choices
leads to so many sandal choices.
there is no such thing
as too many.
(this is written mostly for my husbands benefit)
i have two or three pairs of
"go-to" sandals
in my imagination i have 20-30 pairs of sandals
to choose from.
what?
does that seem like a lot?
ehh.

sandals are fun and they are
a way that we can show our personality
through fashion.

you may prefer a t-shirt and jeans but
when you through on a pair
of sandals that "scream" YOU
then you are set to face the world.
so here are some ideas to get
your brain swirling with the
possibilities of sandals out there
just in case your eyes have
been closed every time you go out.

these are between $50-$100:

~~~
these are under $50:
have i convinced you?
now just bring your husband over to the compter screen
and say that i'm super important
and i know every womans
apparel needs.
that life as you know it
can only be complete with
at least (X amount) pairs of sandals.
good luck.
i'm still working on my own husband...we'll see.
K.I.D.S. also serves military families who are suffering financial hardship while a loved one is deployed.
...awards...
first- i did not get a belt. :(
i'm really afraid to buy a belt, i get all sweaty
i have no pictures hanging on my walls in my living room
once i paint my toenails i keep the color for months
and just keep touching it up.
of all the woes of being a mom, potty training
is the first time you want to
physically abuse your child,
i hate potty training.
i look regular. i love fashion but not all of my
clothes reflect that.
i turned 13 on friday the 13th in october.
boo yah.
